We have three restroom locations. The smaller ones are located in our original shower house. The larger ones are contained in our new pool house. They are large, spacious restrooms with sinks, mirrors, and electrical outlets. Individual stalls are provided, too. We also added new restrooms to our Camp Store and Office facility, which we opened in May 2000. Our restrooms, as well as all of the facilities at the Leon Valley Campground, were planned and built to be fully and conveniently accessible to all of our campers, especially our handicapped guests

Sanitary Station

Our sanitary station is the pull-through, "wayside" type, and is equipped to handle black and grey water wastes. We also have a "honey wagon" which is available upon request. Trash dumpsters are located nearby for the disposal of garbage from your campsite. We recycle!

Hiking Trails

Wonderful hiking trails! We have 2.5 miles of hiking trails within the borders of the campground. For the more serious and energetic hikers, we have 150 acres of deep woodland in another area of our farm and you are welcome to hike there. The trails in the campground itself are groomed, but wind through some heavily wooded areas and follow a meandering stream that empties into a small pond. The pond is surrounded by a fragrant pine forest.

We are sure that you will encounter many delightful suprises as you hike the trails. The birds native to this area abound in the campground, especially along the trails. There are owls, hawks, pheasants, turkeys...the list goes on and on. Squirrels, both red and grey, scamper along tree branches, peeking out at the hikers. It can be a funny sight to see. In the spring, if you are quiet as you approach the pond, you may be lucky enough to see a mother duck and her fussy little ducklings paddling around. It is a wonderful experience to share with your children; an experience that endures through the years; an experience that they will also want to share with their children someday. It is an experience that we have had many times; one that we have tried to share with all of our guests over the years.

Another delightful sight along the trails is the occasional deer. Whitetails are prolific in Wisconsin, and the area in our part of this beautiful state follows true to form. Depending on the time of year, you may see a group of does, perhaps their fawns, and, if you are really lucky, the ever elusive buck. You'll have to look really fast, though; these agile and ever alert critters can run, jump, and disappear quicker than a minnow can swim a dipper!

The woods along the hiking trails provide habitat for coyotes and foxes, too. They are shy creatures, and seldom seen, but you will hear their soulful cries and calls to each other at night in the beautiful hills and bluffs that surround the campground. Sometimes, it almost seems as if they have put together their own chorus, of sorts, and are singing their wild songs of the wilderness, and of freedom. It is not uncommon to be lulled to sleep by whipoorwills singing in the evening and the coyotes calling to each other in the night. If you are an early riser, you may hear the sounds of ducks landing on the pond early in the morning. If you want to experience this, and more, come camp with us!

Lots of racoon and skunk families make their homes in the woods around the campground. This might be a good time to point out that if you don't keep your food put away at night, you will probably have an unscheduled and suprising visit from some of them in the evening. Kids are delighted by their presence, and a lot of good campfire stories have already evolved with "giant" racoons and "magic" skunks starring as the lead characters!
